dress code and proper attire

Required dance-wear and dance shoes must be worn to all classes. Failure to wear required dance-wear to class could result in a students being asked to sit out of class. For safety reason, dancers are not permitted to wear jewelry.  Hair must be securely tied back preferably in a bun or ponytail for all classes. Tight fitting clothing is a must. There are reasons behind our dress code - Teachers need to be able to see the body placement of the dancers. T-Shirts and lose shorts should not be worn (except hip hop and tap). In gymnastics classes, NO lose clothing should be worn, it poses a risk to both your child and their teachers. Both parents and teachers want your child to become the best dancer possible and it starts with this simple things.

Please refer to the following dress code guide for each class.

2022-23 Dress Code

The goal at Beyond Dance is to provide your child with a fun and challenging dance class each time they come to the studio. At the same time, we need each child to follow specific dress code guidelines when they come into each class.

  1. Always have your child’s hair pulled back into a bun or ponytail. If the hair is too short for a bun or ponytail, please try your best to pull it away from the face.

  2. Do not come to dance class in street clothes – always wear proper dance clothes.

  3. No gum in class.

  4. No jewelry (aside from small earrings) should be worn to class. It can tear the tights or fall off during class.

Each type of class may require a different style of dress. Please review the following to find your child’s class(es).
